The present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of Cr.P.C seeks the following prayer: "a) Issue writ of mandamus and/or any other suitable writ, order or directions against the above named respondents for having committed the offences of illegal detention, mental agony, harassment of the petitioner, sending him to jail without following due process of law and to direct the respondents to compensate the petitioner adequately in the sum of Rs. 50.0 lakhs for his illegal detention, loss of his Dignity, Social Life, Mental Agony, damage to his 'health, physical damage and lowering his image in the eyes of his family members, relatives and society at large. b) pass an appropriate writ, order or direction to the concerned authority to take appropriate action against the erring officials for their omission and commission in the matter; and c) pass any order or further orders as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case." 2.
