Since petitioner seeks appointment with the Railways i.e Central Government, this writ petition will not be maintainable in this Court in view of the Constitution Bench Judgment of the Supreme Court in the case of L. Chandra Kumar vs. Union of India & Ors. AIR 1997 SC 1125, and therefore, at the request made on behalf of the petitioner, this writ petition is not pressed and liberty is granted to the petitioner to approach the Central Administrative Tribunal, Principal Bench, New Delhi. 2.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
