O R D E R

% 16.12.2016 By the present petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No.577/2007 under Section 384 IPC registered at PS Model Town on the complaint of respondent No.2 and proceedings pursuant thereto as the parties have settled the matter.

Learned APP for the State on instructions from the investigating officer submits that in the above noted FIR the petitioner is the only accused and respondent No.2 the only complainant/victim who was minor at the time of registration of the FIR and has now attained majority. Respondent No.2 who is present in Court and identified by learned counsel and the investigating officer submits that he has settled the matter with the petitioner who has apologised for his conduct and compensated him by returning money extorted from him. He states that he does not wish to

pursue the above noted FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. The petitioner who is present in Court and identified by learned counsel tenders his unqualified apology and assures that no such misbehaviour will take place in future. He further states that he will give no cause of grievance either to respondent No.2 or anyone else in future. Considering the fact that the parties have settled the matter, no useful purpose will be served in continuing with the above noted FIR and proceedings pursuant thereto as FIR was registered pursuant to trifle dispute between the parties and there is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question, this Court deems it fit to quash the FIR and proceedings pursuant thereto.

Consequently, FIR No.577/2007 under Section 384 IPC registered at PS Model Town, Delhi and proceedings pursuant thereto are hereby quashed.

Parties have signed this order sheet in acknowledgment of their statements made before this Court.

The petition is disposed of. Order dasti.
