O R D E R

% 15.12.2016 The petitioner has preferred the present writ petition to seek a direction that the police authorities should not harass or threaten him and his family members. The petitioner also seeks a writ of mandamus that action be taken against the police officers who are visiting the petitioner's house from time to time and harassing him. The petitioner claims that he has severed his relationship with his elder son Mahesh. Mahesh is an accused in a case involving kidnapping for ransom. The petitioner states that the police is harassing him to find out the whereabouts of his son Mahesh. According to the petitioner, he has severed his relationship with Mahesh by issuing a public notice on 24.05.2015. Mr. Kundu, who appears on advance

notice, submits that the case against the accused is that he demanded Rs. 50 crores and received ransom of Rs. 1 crore for release of the kidnapped person. According to Mr. Kundu, the kidnapped person was kept at a place in Vilage Dundlod, Distt. Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, which is the property of the family and which is visited by both the petitioner and his son. The petitioner has not stated the manner in which he has been subjected to threats or harassment. The police cannot be prevented from carrying out their investigation to locate the accused who is on the run. The allegations made by the petitioner are vague and no specific instances of the time when the police visited his residence, and the manner in which he was threatened or harassed, has been provided.

In these circumstances, no directions can be issued as desired by the petitioner.

The petition is dismissed.
