By way of this writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of Cr.P.C., petitioner is praying for quashing of the lookout circular issued against him and also for compensation for harassment.

Response on behalf of the respondent-Union of India has been filed which is to the following effect:- "That with regard to the present status of petitioner's LOC, it is submitted that as per available record the aforesaid LOC of petitioner stands deleted on 02.09.2015 for the reasons "unreviewed LOC deleted". Thus, in view of point/para 8(i) of MHA's Office memorandum dated 27.10.2010, the LOC of petitioner stands deleted on 02.09.2015; as the same remained un-reviewed by the originator. It is humbly submitted that this Hon'ble Court was made aware about this fact on 20.01.2016 that the LOC of petitioner stands deleted."

In view of the above, nothing further survives in this writ petition and the same is hereby dismissed as infructuous.
