% 31.05.2017 CM No.22038/2017 (by R-1 for release of amount) By the Court's order dated 07.09.2016, the compensation amount of Rs.6,70,000/- was reduced to Rs.1,10,000/-.
The accident happened on 17.03.2010. More than seven years have passed since then and the applicant/injured has received no monies so far. The Court would note that 50% of the awarded amount was to be released to the applicant immediately and the balance 50% was to be kept in the fixed deposit for a period of two years as per the Tribunal's order dated 15.04.2015. The said two years' period, as envisaged in the suit, have since elapsed, therefore, the applicant seeks release of the entire amount. In the circumstances, the amount lying deposited in the FDR with interest accrued thereon be released to the applicant. The application stands disposed off.
