% 11.01.2017 Amended memo of parties has been filed, which is taken on record. The petitioner has filed the present petition seeking quashing of FIR No.240/2013 registered on the complaint of the complainant under Sections 498A/ 406 IPC against the petitioner at Police Station - Bharat Nagar. The complainant is present in Court. She is identified by the Investigating Officer.

The parties have arrived at a settlement in second motion proceedings,

which has been placed on record. Under the settlement, out of the total settlement amount of Rs.1,82,00,000/-, the complainant has already received an amount of Rs.1,32,00,000/-. An amount of Rs.50,00,000/- has been tendered to her by way of bank drafts in Court today. Copies of the drafts have already been placed on record. The complainant states that she has not been subjected to any pressure or coercion and that she has entered the settlement out of her own free will. The complainant further states that she joins the prayer for quashing of the FIR in question. Accordingly, no useful purpose would be served in proceeding further with the FIR in question and the proceedings emanating therefrom. The same are hereby quashed. Since the charge-sheet already stands filed. The same also stands quashed.
