% 12.07.2017 It is submitted that petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes amicably before the Mediation Centre, Tis Hazari Court, Delhi on 2nd August, 2013; therefore, FIR No. 157/2012 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at police station Nabi Karim may be quashed. Petitioner nos. 2 to 6 are relatives of petitioner no. 1. Marriage between the petitioner no. 1 and respondent no.2 has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent dated 26th May, 2014 passed by the Family Court (Central), Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi.

Respondent no.2 is present in

Court and has been identified by SI Mehrab Alam, P.S. Nabi Karim. Respondent no. 2 admits having received entire settled amount. Respondent no. 2 further admits having settled the matter with petitioner no. 1 of her own free will and without any undue force, pressure or coercion. Respondent no. 2 submits that she is not willing to pursue the FIR any further, in terms of the settlement and the same may be quashed. Keeping in mind that petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes amicably, inasmuch as, have obtained a decree of divorce by mutual consent, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 157/2012 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at police station Nabi Karim and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
