The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying for an order directing the respondents to provide information to the petitioner which was sought by the petitioner by an application dated 29.01.2015. (hereafter the RTI application) preferred under the Right to Information Act, 2005 (hereafter 'the Act').

The learned counsel for the respondents has handed over a letter dated 04.07.2017 indicating that an inspection was granted for certain records to the petitioner and he had expressed his satisfaction regarding the same and requested that his application under the Act be treated as satisfied. Copy of the said letter is placed on record.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the said inspection

was granted pursuant to an application dated 10.03.2017 and not the RTI application, which was filed earlier (that is, application dated 29.01.2015). 4.

This is disputed by the learned counsel for the respondents, who states that the petitioner was duly satisfied. He has also brought the original files on record which indicates that copies of some documents were provided to the petitioner.

Notwithstanding the above and considering that a considerable period of time has lapsed and the respondents have always been willing to provide the information as sought for by the petitioner, this petition is disposed of with the observation that the petitioner may file a fresh RTI application indicating precisely, the documents required by him. The respondents will grant the petitioner a further inspection and also provide copies of the documents in accordance with law.
