% 15.12.2016 The present contempt petition has been filed alleging wilful disobedience of the order dated 03rd August, 2016 passed in W.P.(C) 6724/2016 whereby the respondent was directed to decide an application of the petitioner with regard to release of the petitioner's share of compensation payable on account of death of his father, mother and siblings in 1984 anti-sikh riots as per the policy of the government within a period of eight weeks after conducting an appropriate inquiry.

Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner's application has not been decided till date.

Issue notice. Ms. Prabhsahay Kaur, Advocate accepts notice for the respondent. She, on the instructions of Mr. Rajvir Singh, SDM, Shahdara, assures and undertakes to this Court that the

petitioner's application shall be disposed of on or before 31st December, 2016.

The statement made by Ms. Kaur is accepted by this Court and the SDM, Shahdara is held bound by the same.

In view thereof, the present contempt petition is disposed of. However, in the event, the petitioner's application is not disposed of on or before the stipulated date, the petitioner is given liberty to seek revival of the present petition.
