The petitioner has filed the present petition seeking that a FIR be registered against respondent no.3 and further respondent no.2 be directed to initiate proceedings for recovery of money against respondent no.3. 2.

The petitioner alleges that respondent no.3 has been collecting old age pension since 2014 on the basis of forged documents. He states that a complaint in this regard was also made to the respondents. The petitioner has also drawn the attention of this Court to a letter dated 29.12.2016 issued by the Office District Officer (East), Social Welfare Department, which indicates that the District Magistrate had found that respondent no.3 was not eligible for any financial help.

This Court is unable to appreciate the locus of the petitioner in filing

of the present petition. However, notwithstanding the same, since it appears that respondent no.2 has entertained the complaint filed by the petitioner. It would be necessary for the respondent to follow the same to the logical end in accordance with law. It is expected that such steps as may be considered necessary in this regard would be taken by respondent no.2 within a period of eight weeks from today.

This Court is not inclined to pass any further orders or to examine the allegations made against respondent no. 3; that would be a matter to be examined by the concerned authorities.
