This petition under Article 227 of the Constitution of India seeks a direction for expeditious disposal (within three months) of the petition under Section 14(1)(a) of the Delhi Rent Control Act, 1958 filed by the petitioners/landlords for eviction of the respondent/tenant from a shop in property No.J-158, Rajouri Garden, New Delhi and pending as ARC No.26220/2016 in the Court of Additional Rent Controller (ARC) (West), Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi.

petition being CM(M) No.677/2017 preferred by the respondent/tenant against the order dated 9th June, 2017 of the ARC (West), Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi in ARC No.26230/2016 under Section 14(1)(e) of the Act came up before this Bench yesterday and which was dismissed as CM(M) 703/2017
withdrawn and finding that the conduct of the respondent/tenant had been dilatory, a direction for expeditious disposal of the said petition for eviction under Section 14(1)(e) of the Act has been issued. 5.
The petition for eviction under Section 14(1)(a) of the Act being ARC No.26220/2016 is also found to be pending since the year 2012. 6.
Considering the nature of the relief, need to issue notice to the respondent/tenant is not felt.

The petition is disposed of by directing the ARC (West), Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi to dispose of the petition for eviction filed by the petitioners/landlords against the respondent/tenant and pending as ARC No.26220/2016 also as expeditiously as possible. No costs.
