% 23.11.2017 Petitioners are General Duty Medical Officers who claim to be eligible for grant of Equated Teaching Designations (Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor/Professor). In the counter-affidavit filed by respondent No.2-University, petitioners' claim has been principally accepted. The relevant extract of paragraph No.4 of the counter-affidavit filed by respondent No.2-University is as under: - "That the Equated Teaching Designation to the GDMOs at ESI shall be processed as per the Provisions of PGMER 2000 and its amendments from time to time." Learned counsel for petitioners submits that petitioners are eligible for the grant of 'Equated Teaching Designations' and they would be making fresh applications within a week to the concerned Medical W.P.(C) 5914/2017

Colleges/Institutions, who shall process petitioners' applications as per petitioners' eligibility criteria strictly in terms of the applicable Rules and Regulations. It is made clear that all eligible doctors be considered for grant of 'Equated Teaching Designations' as per applicable Rules and Regulations.

With aforesaid directions, this petition and the application are disposed of.
