The petitioners has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to respondents to rehabilitate, relocate or provide alternate land with ownership rights pursuant to demolition of their jhuggis. The petitioner claims that they were residing in jhuggis located near Jhandewalan Temple which were demolished by Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on 06.06.2017.

Mr Sabharwal, learned counsel for the DDA had contested the said assertion and had claimed that there were temporary sheds put up in public place belonging to the DDA. The said land was to be developed as a public park/parking lot and, therefore, such encroachment had been removed. In view of the above statement, by an order dated 18.09.2017, the DDA was
directed to file a status report along with photographs of the land in question.

In compliance with the said order, Mr Sabharwal has handed over a status report, which includes the photographs of the land in question both before and after the action taken by the DDA. 4.
It is seen from the said photographs that only temporary sheds had been put up on the land and the same had been removed. 5.
The petitioners have not filed any photographs along with their petition. Further, copies of the documents - identity cards, aadhar card or election card etc. - filed by the petitioners also do not indicate that the petitioners were residing on the land in question. 6.
In view of the above, no relief can be granted to the petitioners. The petition is, accordingly, dismissed.
