O R D E R

% 05.12.2016 Present contempt petition has been filed alleging wilful disobedience of the consensual order dated 25th October, 2016 passed by this Court in W.P.(C) 10074/2016 whereby the respondent was directed to re-connect the electricity connection at the premises of the petitioner bearing No. BB-110, First Floor, Subhash Basti, Nabi Karim, Paharganj, New Delhi - 110 055 subject to petitioner depositing an ad hoc amount of Rs.10,000/- with the respondent within a period of one week.

In the petition, it has been averred that though on 27th October, 2016, the petitioner had deposited the aforesaid amount with the respondent vide a Demand Draft, yet the respondent has not re-connected the electricity connection of the petitioner till date.

Mr. Manish Srivastava, learned counsel for respondent-BSES, who

appears on advance notice, states that the petitioner has not allowed the officials of the respondent-BSES to re-connect the electricity connection. He states that petitioner is insisting that his old electricity meter be reinstalled. Having heard the learned counsel for parties and having perused the order dated 25th October, 2016, this Court is of the view that the only direction by this Court was to direct the respondent to re-connect the electricity connection at the petitioner's premises upon deposit of Rs.10,000/- and the Court did not direct that the old electricity meter of the petitioner be re-installed.

Since the fact that the petitioner has not allowed re-connection of the electricity connection is not disputed by the petitioner, this Court is of the view that the present contempt petition is bereft of merit. Accordingly, the same is dismissed.
