% 09.12.2016 Crl. M.A. No. 19220/2016 Allowed, subject to all just exceptions. Application is disposed of. W.P. (CRL.) No. 3521/2016 Petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 were married on 16th May, 2011. Marital discord between the petitioners and respondent no. 2 had led to registration of the present FIR No. 420/2014 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC at Police Station Shakar Pur on 24th February, 2014. Petitioner nos. 2 and 3 are relatives of the petitioner no. 1. Petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes amicably. Marriage between the petitioner

no. 1 and respondent no. 2 has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent dated 22nd September, 2016. Respondent no. 2 is present in Court and submits that she has received the entire settled amount and is not willing to pursue the FIR any further.

Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 and the fact that their marriage has already been dissolved, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep them entangled in the criminal proceedings. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, the FIR No. 420/2014 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Shakar Pur and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
