O R D E R

% 05.01.2018 After some arguments, learned counsel for the petitioner prays for leave to withdraw the petition. He, however, submits that a direction be issued to expedite the trial.

In view of the above, the petition is dismissed as withdrawn. However, the Trial Court is directed to expedite the trial. The Trial Court shall endeavour to conclude the recording of the evidence of the prosecution witnesses within a period of two weeks from the next date. List the matter before the Trial Court on 12.01.2018 for fixing an appropriate expeditious schedule for recording the testimony of the witnesses. The Trial Court shall endeavour to conclude the hearing of arguments and pronounce the judgment within 15 days thereafter. Copy of the order may also be communicated to the Trial Court by the Registry.
