The petitioners have approached this Court being aggrieved by the procedure followed by the respondents in allocating employees to the two forces i.e. Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) and Railway Protection Force (RPF).

Learned counsel for the respondents submits that during the pendency of present writ petition, directions have been issued by the Director General, RPF streamlining the procedure for allocating employees to RPF/RPSF. Consequently, guidelines for deciding this allocation on the basis of seniority and vacancy positions have been promulgated. appropriately posted in accordance therewith. 3.
In the light of the aforesaid, once the respondents have set down the procedure for allocating employees to RPF/RPSF, nothing further survives for adjudication in the present petition, which is disposed of along with pending application by directing the respondents to ensure that the exercise is completed in respect of all the petitioners, within a period of six months.
