CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE VIBHU BAKHRU

O R D E R

% 08.08.2017 Respondent no.2 has filed the status report indicating that the advertisements for the post of G.M. (Legal) were issued on 18.07.2017 and the entire process of selection would be completed within three to four months from that date. It is stated that G.M. (Legal) also discharges the functions of Claim Commissioner subject to his appointment under Delhi Metro Railways (Operation and Maintenance) Act, 2002. The status report also indicates that DMRC is attempting to settle the disputes with the petitioner amicably.

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of by directing that DMRC shall ensure that the Claim Commissioner is appointed within the outer limit of four months from 18.07.2017. It is also directed that Claim Commissioner, so appointed would take up the claims of the petitioner as expeditiously as possible.

The learned counsel for respondents also states that Managing Director of DMRC has constituted a committee to amicably resolve the disputes with the petitioner. It is directed that the committee so constituted shall, within one week from today, communicate the time and venue for a meeting to explore the possibility of an amicable resolution of the disputes. It is clarified that this would be without prejudice to the rights and contentions of the parties.
