The present petition has been filed by the petitioner, inter alia, praying for a direction to the Government of NCT of Delhi to implement the decision dated 16.04.2015 with regard to granting ex-gratia relief of `20,000/- per acre on account of crop damage due to rains. It is the petitioner's case that he had applied for compensation as per the scheme of relief announced by GNCTD; however, his claim has not been processed. The petitioner applied under the Right to Information Act, 2005 seeking
information regarding status of his application. In response to the same, the petitioner received a letter dated 13.09.2016, informing him that his application was being processed. However, the petitioner claims that he has not received the relief as yet.

In view of the above, the respondents are directed to process the petitioner's application for ex gratia compensation within a period of four weeks from today. In the event, the respondents decide that the same is not payable for any reason whatsoever, they shall communicate the same to the petitioner within the said period.

The petition and the pending application are disposed of with the aforesaid directions.
