The matter was listed on 24th July, 2017 on which date a direction was issued to the respondent-CRPF to examine the case of the petitioner for voluntary retirement.

Mr.Goyal, learned Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents , hands over a copy of the Signal dated 5th August, 2017, stating inter alia that the request made by the petitioner for seeking voluntary retirement has been accepted vide order dated 4th October, 2017 and his name will be struck off from the strength of the unit with effect from 31st October, 2017. A copy of the aforesaid signal, as handed over by learned counsel for the respondents, is taken on record and a copy of the same has been furnished to the counsel for the petitioner. In view of the aforesaid order, the transfer order issued in respect of the petitioner in terms of the Signal dated 22nd March, 2017, is quashed and set aside. It is directed that the petitioner shall continue to remain posted at Delhi till his name is struck off from the strength of the unit on 31st October, 2017. The respondent shall ensure that steps are taken to release all the retiral benefits of the petitioner as expeditiously as is possible and preferably within eight weeks from today.
