W.P.(CRL) No. 3646/2016 Petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes before the Mediation Centre, Karkardooma Courts, Delhi. Petitioner nos. 2 and 3 are relatives of petitioner no. 1. Marriage between the petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by

mutual consent dated 20th July, 2016 passed by the Family Courts, Shahdara, Karkardooma Courts, Delhi.

Respondent no. 2 is present in Court along with her counsel and admits having settled the matter with the petitioner. Petitioner no. 1 has handed over a demand draft of `35,000/- to the respondent no. 2 towards balance settled amount. She further admits that entire settled amount stands paid to her and that the FIR may be quashed. Keeping in mind that parties have settled their disputes, inasmuch as, their marriage has been dissolved by a decree of divorce, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep them entangled in the criminal proceedings. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 297/2012 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC and Section 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961 registered at Police Station Welcome Colony and the consequent proceeding emanating therefrom are quashed.
