W.P.(CRL) No. 3631/2016 Petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes before the Mediation Centre, Dwarka Courts, New Delhi. Petitioner nos. 2 to 4 are relatives of petitioner no. 1. Their marriage has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent dated 1st December, 2016 passed by the Family Court (South), Saket Courts, New Delhi. Respondent no. 2 is

present in Court along with her counsel. Respondent no. 2 submits that she has already received Rs.7 lacs out of the settled amount of Rs.11.25 lacs from the petitioner no. 1.

Petitioner no. 1 has paid Rs.4.25 lacs to the respondent no. 2 today in Court vide a demand draft, photocopy whereof has been placed on record. Respondent no. 2 submits that she is not willing to pursue the FIR any further.

Keeping in mind that parties have settled their disputes, inasmuch as, their marriage has been dissolved by a decree of divorce, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep them entangled in the criminal proceedings. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 56/2014 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station CAW Nanak Pura and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. Dasti. A.K. PATHAK, J.
