W.P.(CRL) 3630/2016 Petitioner and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes before the Mediation Centre, Karkardooma Courts, Delhi. Their marriage has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent dated 17th October, 2016 passed by the Family Courts, Shahdara, Karkardooma Courts, Delhi. Respondent no. 2 is present in Court along with her counsel and admits

having settled the matter with the petitioner. She further admits that she has already received entire settled amount, in terms of the settlement and that she is not willing to pursue the FIR any further. Keeping in mind that parties have settled their disputes, inasmuch as, their marriage has been dissolved by a decree of divorce, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep them entangled in the criminal proceedings. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 238/2015 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Mandawli Fazad Pur and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
