% 11.08.2017 Counsel for the respondents, who appears on advance notice, accepts that the petitioner's representation dated 8th September, 2016 is pending before the Board of Officers constituted to examine the question of seniority. He submits that as a large number of officers would be affected, all of them may have to be given personal hearing. Further, a number of representations are pending and have to be disposed of. Six months' time, it is prayed, may be granted. Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's representation is dated 8th September, 2016. This may be correct. However, as pointed by the counsel for the respondents that a number
of representations stand filed. The decision would have serious repercussions and affect seniority of several officers. In these circumstances, we are inclined to accept the prayer made by the respondents and grant them six months' further time to decide the question of seniority. However, grant of time does not mean that the decision would be taken at the end of the sixth month. The issue of seniority should be resolved as soon as possible. With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of. SANJIV KHANNA, J.
