% 04.08.2017 This is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India filed by the petitioner seeking a writ of habeas corpus directing the respondents to produce his friend and business partner of the petitioner, who is stated to be in illegal confinement of his father, respondent no.5. The matter was listed on 03.08.2017 when respondent no.5 was directed to be produced in Court along with his son.

Today respondent no.5 is present along with his son. We have interacted with Manu Mahalwar in the Chamber in the presence of Mr. Harsha Peechara, Advocate who was present in Court in another matter. Counsel for the petitioner submits the present petition was filed as the petitioner was concerned with the safety of Manu Mahalwar as it was unusual that a young boy of 29 years of age would leave his office, leave his belongings

and switch off his mobile phone.

Mr. Manu Mahalwar submits that he has not been illegally confined by his father. He further submits that he is living with his parents out of his own free will and peacefully without any captivity. Counsel for the petitioner submits that in view of the stand taken by respondent no.5 and Manu Mahalwar, she does not press this petition. The petition is accordingly dismissed as not pressed.
