W.P. (Crl.) 3711/2016 Petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes before the Mediation Centre, Tis Hazari Court on 2nd March, 2016. Petitioner nos. 2 to 4 are relatives of petitioner no.1. Marriage between the petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 has been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent dated 27th October, 2016 passed by the Family Court, Central District, Tis Hazari. Respondent no. 2 is present in Court and admits having settled the matter.

She says that she has received the entire settled amount

and has no objection in case FIR is quashed.

Keeping in mind that marriage between the petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 has been dissolved and respondent no.2 is not willing to pursue the FIR any further, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the present criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, FIR No. 1054/2015 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at police station Burari and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. Miscellaneous application is disposed of as infructuous.
