CRL.M.C. 32/2017 Petitioner no.1 is jija (brother-in-law) of respondent no.2. Petitioner nos.2 to 6 are the family members of petitioner no.1. On some trivial issue a quarrel took place between respondent no.2 and the petitioners, which resulted in registration of present FIR No.14/2014 under Sections 323/354/509/34 IPC registered at police station Farsh Bazar on the complaint of respondent no.2. Petitioners and respondent no.2 have settled

their disputes amicably vide Compromise Deed/Memorandum of Understanding dated 8th September, 2016.

Respondent no.2 is present in Court and submits that she has settled the matter with petitioners of her own free will and without any undue force, pressure and coercion. She submits that she is not willing to pursue the FIR any further. Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the family members, I am of the view that no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending.

Accordingly, FIR No.14/2014 under Sections 323/354/509/34 IPC registered at police station Farsh Bazar is quashed.

Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
