The petitioner is residing in property bearing No.C-II/46, New Ashok Nagar, which was owned by his father late Ranjit Singh. The petitioner's father, Ranjit Singh, expired on 13th March, 1996. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's father died intestate and the petitioner has inherited the subject property along with his brother according to the ordinary law of succession. It is further submitted that the petitioner is holding an Aadhar Card and the petitioner's brother is also staying in the subject property and he has got an electricity connection in his name. It is further submitted that the respondents have not sanctioned an electricity connection on the ground that the petitioner has not been able to furnish the proof of title in respect of the subject property. 3.

In the facts and circumstances of this case and considering that the petitioner is in settled possession of the subject premises and electricity is a basic requirement, the petitioner is allowed and the respondent is directed to sanction an independent electricity connection in the petitioner's name

without insisting on the documents of title in the petitioner's name. Needless to say that the petitioner would fulfil all other requirements for electricity connection. The respondent shall intimate the requirements to the petitioner within one week from today and upon the petitioner fulfilling the same, the electricity connection shall be sanctioned to the petitioner within a period of one week thereafter.

This petition is disposed of on the above terms with liberty to the petitioner to revive the same in the event of any default by the respondent. 5.

Copy of this order be given dasti to counsels for the parties under signatures of the Court Master.
