By this petition, the petitioner seeks parole for a period of 3 months to perform the Chahmahi Barsi and Pind Dan of his father who passed away on 6th April, 2018. Status report and nominal roll have been handed over. 2.

As per the status report, the Pind Dan is fixed for 6th October, 2018. However the petitioner's family comprises of his mother and an elder brother who is living in the same locality but separately. Further the petitioner was granted more than two months' parole from 28th December, 2017 to 7th March, 2018 as his father was unwell and thereafter two weeks' parole from 13th April, 2018 to 27th April, 2018 when his father died. After the said spells of paroles, the petitioner has already availed twice furlough for a period of two weeks each time granted by the Director General (Prisons) with effect from 2nd May, 2018 and 6th August, 2018. petitioner was aware of the fact that his presence at the time of Pind Dan Ceremony was required and hence he should have spaced out and availed the furlough at this time.

Be that as it may, in view of the verification report, this Court deems it fit to grant parole to the petitioner for a period of two days from the date of his release on his furnishing a personal bond in the sum of ₹25,000/-with one surety bond of the like amount subject to the satisfaction of the Jail Superintendent.
