O R D E R

% 04.01.2017 Petitioner and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes vide Memorandum of Understanding dated 30th May, 2016. Respondent no.2 is present in Court, who has been identified by SI Vikram Singh of police station Punjabi Bagh. She submits that she has settled the matter with the petitioner of her own free will and without any undue pressure, force or coercion. She further submits that their marriage has been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent passed by the Family Court, Tis Hazari Court on 7th December, 2016. Respondent no.2 further submits that she has already received entire settled amount from the petitioner. She has no objection in case the FIR is quashed.

Keeping in mind that marriage between the petitioner and respondent no.2 has been dissolved and respondent no.2 is not willing to pursue the FIR any further, in my view, no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the present criminal proceedings pending.

Accordingly, FIR No. 208/2016 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at police station Punjabi Bagh and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. A.K. PATHAK, J.
