% 18.09.2017 It is submitted that petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes before the Mediation Centre, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi on 26th February, 2011.

Therefore, FIR No.729/2001 under Sections 498-A/406 IPC registered at Police Station Patel Nagar, Delhi may be quashed. Respondent no. 2 is present in Court today and has been identified by SI Ashok Kumar, P.S. Patel Nagar. She says that she has settled the matter with petitioner no.1 before the Mediation Centre of her own free will and without any undue force, pressure and coercion. She says that her marriage with the petitioner no.1 has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent dated 25th May, 2015 before Family Court, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi.

Petitioner nos. 2 and 3 are relatives of petitioner no.1.

Petitioner no.1 has paid `40,000/- to respondent no. 2 vide a demand draft. Photocopy of the same has been placed on record. Respondent no.2 says that she has received the entire settled amount with this payment and she has no objection in case FIR No. 729/2001 under Sections 498-A/406 IPC registered at Police Station Patel Nagar, Delhi is quashed. Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the parties and that marriage between the petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 729/2001 under Sections 498-A/406 IPC registered at Police Station Patel Nagar, Delhi and the consequent proceedings arising therefrom are quashed. Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
