O R D E R

% 18.09.2017 It is submitted that petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes before Mediation Centre, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi on 2nd April, 2016, therefore, FIR No.0606/2015 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Geeta Colony, Delhi on the complaint of respondent no.2 may be quashed. Respondent no. 2 is represented in Court today by her father who holds the power of attorney in his favour executed by the respondent no.2.

Father of respondent no.2 submits that marriage between the petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent on 1st May, 2017. Learned counsel

for petitioner no.1 has handed over a demand draft for `2 lacs favouring respondent no.2 to the attorney/father of respondent no. 2, who says that with this payment entire settled amount stands paid. He further states that he has got instructions from the respondent no.2 not to oppose the quashing of the FIR in view of the settlement.

Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the parties and that marriage between the petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 0606/2015 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Geeta Colony, Delhi and the consequent proceedings arising therefrom are quashed.

Petition is disposed of in the above terms.

Miscellaneous applications are disposed of as infructuous. Dasti.
