On August 21, 2017, this Court had noted the submission made by Mr. Wasim A. Qadri, learned counsel appearing for the respondent No.1 that salary to the petitioner could not be released as necessary grant in aid has not been received from the UGC.

Mr. Qadri reiterates the said submission and states that the grant in aid has not been received from the UGC, which has established the Centre for Social Inclusion and Inclusive Policy, since 2012. He states, even the regular staff of the University are being paid after encashing the fixed

deposits. The statement made by Mr. Qadri is an inter-se issue between the UGC and the University and the same cannot be a ground to deny the salary to the petitioner.

Noting the aforesaid submission and the limited prayer made in the writ petition is, for release of the salary, I deem it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition holding that the respondent No.1 is under obligation to pay salary to its employees including the petitioner, timely. It is noted that the petitioner has not been paid salary from April, 2017. The respondent No.1 shall release upto date salary to the petitioner within two weeks from today. Any issue the University has with the UGC has to be sorted out by it and the same in no way shall affect the payment of salary to the petitioner in future. 4.

The petition stands disposed of.
