Allowed, subject to just exceptions.
O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 299/2018 2.
Issue notice.
3.
Mr. Rajat Navet accepts notice on behalf of the respondent. 4.
Learned counsel says that he does not wish to file a reply as the respondent does not object to the prayer made in the application for extension of time for concluding the arbitration proceedings. 5.
The record shows that the learned Arbitrator entered upon reference on 20.02.2016 and that, on 08.02.2017 with mutual consent of parties the time frame for concluding arbitration proceedings was extended by six (6) months.

6.
After the expiry of the extended period of six months, the petitioner filed an application in this Court for extension of time. 7.
The record shows that this Court vide order dated 23.10.2017 extended time for completion of the arbitration proceedings by a period of one year.
8.
I am informed by counsel for the parties that not only is the arbitration record voluminous but some amount of time was also spent by the learned Arbitrator in disposing of the application under Section 16 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, filed by the respondent. 9.
I am informed that the matter is at the stage of arguments. 10.
Given the number of extensions that have been granted, I am not inclined to grant extension of six months as prayed. 11.
Accordingly, the time frame for concluding the arbitration proceedings and rendering an award is extended by a period of four (4) months commencing from 23.10.2018.
12.
The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. RAJIV SHAKDHER, J OCTOBER 08, 2018 c O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 299/2018 Page 2 of 2
