The petitioner claims to be a victim of acid attack which took place on 21.04.2016. It is stated that a FIR (FIR No.0228/2016) was also filed with PS Bharat Nagar, New Delhi. The petitioner has been paid a compensation of ₹1 lakh by respondent no.4.

The petitioner has filed the present petition seeking enhanced compensation of ₹3 lakh, which is the minimum compensation payable to the victims of acid attack in terms of Delhi Victim Compensation Scheme, 2015.

The learned counsel for respondent nos.1, 2 and 3 states that the claim for enhanced compensation is required to be examined by respondent no.4 (Delhi State Legal Services Authority).

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of by directing respondent no.4 (Delhi State Legal Services Authority) to examine the
petitioner's request for enhanced compensation and if found eligible to ensure that the enhanced compensation is disbursed to the petitioner. It is further directed that the petitioner's case be examined as expeditiously as possible and in any event within a period of eight weeks from today. 5.
In the event, respondent no.4 comes to the conclusion that such compensation is not payable for any reason whatsoever, the same would be communicated to the petitioner and the petitioner would be at liberty to apply afresh.
