The petitioner seeks anticipatory bail under Section 438 Cr.P.C. in case FIR No.776/2016 registered under Sections 498A/306 IPC at PS Neb Sarai. Status report is on record.

I have heard the learned counsel for the parties and have examined the file. The victim committed suicide on 30.09.2016; she did not leave any suicide note. Marriage of the victim had taken place with Dharmender on 30.04.2011.
A child was born out of this wedlock.
No complaint was ever lodged against the petitioner for treating the victim with cruelty on account of dowry demands. After the occurrence, victim's parents made statements against all her inlaws implicating them for subjecting the deceased with cruelty on account of non-fulfilment of dowry demands. The FIR was lodged on 20.10.2016.

It is informed that the petitioner is the brother-in-law of the BAIL APPLN. 2686/2016
victim and was living separate.
Allegations levelled against the petitioner are general in nature and no specific role has been assigned to him. The victim's husband is stated to be already in custody. 4.
Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the petitioner is granted anticipatory bail and in the event of arrest, he be released on furnishing personal bond in the sum of ` 40,000/- with one surety in the like amount to the satisfaction of the SHO/Investigating officer. He shall, however, join the investigation as and when required.

The bail application stands disposed of.
