O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 21/2017 1.

This petition is filed under Section 29 A (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of time for passing of the award by the learned Arbitrator by a period of one year.

This court by order dated 19.05.2016 appointed the learned Arbitrator as the sole arbitrator. The period of 12 months had expired on 25.05.2017. The parties by consent extended that period by six months which will expire on 25.11.2017. 3.

It is urged in the present petition that on account of technical and complex nature of the arbitration proceedings and also on account of bona fide endeavours on the part of the parties to amicably settle the disputes pending between the parties, there has been a delay in completion of the arbitration proceedings. 4.

Learned counsel for the respondent who is present accepts notice and submits that they have no objection to the present petition.

In view of the above, the time for passing of the award is extended by a period of one year w.e.f. 25.11.2017.

Petition stands disposed of.
