O R D E R

% 08.10.2018 The petitioners seek protection from respondent nos. 3 & 4, the relatives of respondent no.5. Petitioner no. 3 and respondent no. 5 are stated to have married each other of their free volition. Respondent no. 5 i.e. the daughter-in-law of petitioner nos. 1 and 2, has left their residence of her own volition, but petitioner no. 1 and 2 state that they were assaulted by the family members of respondent no. 5. Petitioner no. 1 is a senior citizen and apprehends a threat to the life, limb and liberty from the said respondents and accordingly the petitioners seek protection for the same. Mr. Avi Singh, the learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State assures the Court that the matter has been looked into by the SHO of the area concerned and the said respondents will be duly sensitized to maintain peace. The petitioners would not like the respondent no. 5 to enter their house, if petitioner no. 3 (son of petitioner nos. 1 and 2) desires to live with respondent no. 5, he may find another accommodation for his matrimonial habitation.

In view of the above, the petitioners would be interacted with the Investigating Officer in the Court premises. Additionally, the petitioners shall be provided with telephone numbers of three police officers from the jurisdiction of the concerned Police Station of which one shall be a lady police officer. These numbers shall be kept operational at all times so that any exigency can be intimated on either of the numbers by the petitioners. Mr. Avi Singh, further states that any message received on the said numbers or on any other telephone number of the police either by way of a telephone call or SMS shall be immediately responded to. Additionally, the Beat Constable/Division Staff of the area shall regularly visit the residence of the petitioners on a daily basis and report the same in the Roznamcha.

The safety and security of the petitioners shall be assessed by the SHO on a weekly basis with due endorsement of the same in the Roznamcha for a month. The Beat Constable shall record entries in his Beat Book. The petitioners shall furnish their address in Delhi to the SHO concerned. No further orders are required at this stage. The petition stands disposed-off accordingly. NAJMI WAZIRI, J.
