O R D E R

1. On 12th October 2018, the following order was passed in the present appeal.

"The appellant has worked for a period of two and a half years as a daily wager. The service of the appellant was terminated, which has been held illegal by the Industrial Tribunal. The Tribunal awarded a compensation of Rs.60,000/, which has been enhanced to Rs.2.0 lakhs by the learned Single Judge by an order dated 07.08.2018.

Notice to the respondent, subject to the outcome of the application seeking condonation of delay, returnable on the date fixed."

2. Having heard learned counsel for the parties, the Court modifies the impugned order of the learned Single Judge dated 7th August 2018 only to a limited extent of directing that the Respondent will be liable to pay the Appellant simple interest at 12% per annum on the sum of Rs. 1,40,000/- from the date of termination i.e. 1st January 2008 till the date of the payment and further that the interest amount so calculated will be paid not later than 31st March 2019 through RTGS.

3. The account details, for the purpose of payment by RTGS, will be provided by the Appellant to the learned counsel for the Respondent during the course of the day.

4. The appeal is disposed of.
