The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be given to the respondents to take appropriate steps for rehabilitation of petitioner nos.1 and 2 in accordance with the provisions of the Central Sector Scheme for the Rehabilitation of Bonded Labour, 2016. 2.

Mr Gautam Narayan, learned counsel appearing for the respondent has handed over a copy of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to be adopted in the case of rescue of bonded labour. In terms of Paragraph 8.4 and 8.6 of the said SOP, immediate financial assistance of `20,000/- is to be handed over to the adult rescued bonded labour within a period of one week from the date of rescue. In the present case, over a month has now elapsed since the rescue of petitioner nos.1 and 2 and, therefore, the said amount is required to be disbursed as expeditiously as possible. 3.

Mr Narayan also states that a FIR (FIR No.582/2018) has already

been registered and the necessary steps would be taken as expeditiously as possible and, in any event, within a period of four working days from today. It is so directed.

The petitioners also state that they are aware of a minor, who is being subjected to bonded labour. The whereabouts of the minor in question are known to the petitioners. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners states that petitioner no. 3 (who is stated to be a social activist) will approach the concerned SHO and lead the police personnel to the location where the minor is being held. Let petitioner no.3 approach the concerned SHO at 2:00 PM on 24.10.2018. The concerned SHO (or any other officer deputed by him) shall accompany petitioner no 3 to the place where the minor child is stated to be housed.

He shall examine the matter and take all steps in accordance with law.

It is clarified that it would not be necessary for the petitioners to disclose the whereabouts of the minor in question at the initial stage, when they lead the SHO (or any offer as deputed by him) to the location of the minor in question.

No further orders are required to be passed in this petition at this stage.

The same is disposed of. The pending application also stands disposed of.
