By this petition the petitioners seek quashing of FIR No.159/2017 under Section 75/79 of the Juvenile Justice Care and Protection of Children Act, 2012 (in short 'J.J.Act') registered at Police Station Shalimar Bagh on the complaint of respondent No.2 and the proceedings thereto on the ground that parties have settled the matter.

Learned APP, on instructions, submits that the above noted FIR was registered by the mother of respondent No.2 as respondent No.2 is a minor and thus has been impleaded through her mother as her guardian. He states that in the present FIR, two petitioners are the only accused and respondent No.2 is the only complainant.

Respondent No.2 is present along with her mother in court and is CRL.M.C. 3972/2017

identified by her counsel and the Investigating Officer. Mother of respondent No.2 states that they have settled the matter with the petitioners and the respondent No.2 has not only received her salary due but also compensation. She states that the respondent No.2 does not now wish to pursue the above mentioned FIR and proceedings pursuant thereto. 4.

Petitioners who are present in Court and are identified by the learned counsel affirm the statement of respondent No. 2. 5.

In view of the fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, volition and without any coercion and no useful purpose will be served in continuance of the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them, it would be in the interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question.

Consequently, FIR No.159/2017 under Section 75/79 of the J.J.Act registered at Police Station Shalimar Bagh and proceedings pursuant thereto are hereby quashed.

Petitioners No.1 & 2 and respondent No.2 have signed this order sheet in acknowledgment of their statements made before this Court. 8.

Petition is disposed of.
