1. The present petition challenges an order dated 21st March, 2018 passed by the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in OA No. 4013/2016 directing the Petitioners to re-fix the pension payable to the Respondent.

2. The Court is informed that the Respondent expired on 28th July, 2019.

3. Considering the above development and the fact that the family of the deceased Respondent will only receive a much reduced family pension, the interest of justice would be served by directing that the impugned order of the CAT will not constitute a precedent for future cases. The questions of law that arise from the impugned order are left open for consideration in an appropriate case.
