This is a petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 for quashing of FIR No.220/2014 under Section 135 of the Electricity Act, 2003, registered at PS: Patel Nagar, New Delhi.

Learned counsel for the parties submitted that the parties have settled the matter, vide settlement dated 6.1.2016 before

the Permanent Lok Adalat-II, copy whereof is annexed as annexure A-3. Learned counsel for the parties further submitted that, in view of the settlement arrived at between the parties, the aforesaid FIR as well as the proceedings emanating therefrom may be quashed.

In view of the submissions of learned counsel for the parties, the facts and the circumstances as well as taking into consideration the settlement effected between the parties, this Court is of the view that no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping them entangled in the criminal proceedings. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No.220/2014 under Section 135 of the Electricity Act, 2003, registered at PS: Patel Nagar, New Delhi and the proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Petition is disposed of in above terms.
