O R D E R

% 27.10.2017 Respondent no. 2 Sangeeta is present in Court and has been identified by SI Ved Prakash of Police Station Shahbad Dairy. Respondent no. 2 says that she has settled the matter with petitioner no. 1 before the Mediation Centre, Rohini Court on 26th February, 2016 of her own free will, voluntarily and without any undue force, pressure or coercion. She admits having received the entire settled amount.

She submits that her marriage with the petitioner no.1 has already been dissolved by an ex-parte decree of divorce dated 3rd May, 2013 passed by the Family Court, Rohini Courts,

Delhi. She says that she has accepted the ex-parte decree of divorce. She says that she is not willing to pursue the FIR any further against the petitioner no.1 and his relatives, that is, petitioner nos. 2 to 6. Copy of the Settlement/Agreement dated 26th February, 2016 has been placed on record as Annexure P-3. Parties shall remain bound by the terms of settlement. Keeping in mind the settlement arrived at between the parties, more particularly the fact that marriage between the petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 has already been dissolved, in the interest of justice, FIR No.1008/2014 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at Police Station Shahbad Dairy and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
