1. Notice. Mr. Rahul Mehra, learned Standing Counsel, appears for the State and accepts notice.
2. A status report has been filed in which it is stated that on the complaint of the Petitioner about her daughter having gone missing since 18th May 2017, the Investigating Officer („IO‟) attached to PS Nangloi made efforts and traced the Petitioner‟s daughter. It is stated that the Petitioner‟s daughter submitted her age proof, i.e. CBSE Xth class report card, in terms of which her date of birth is 7th May 1997. The girl informed the IO that she has been staying at a paying guest accommodation at Pitam Pura "on her own will and without any pressure." The daughter is, in fact, present in Court and has
been identified by the IO. She reiterates the above position.
3. In that view of the matter, the question of maintainability of this habeas corpus petition at the instance of the Petitioner, regarding her adult daughter being detained by someone against her will, does not arise.
4. The petition is accordingly dismissed.
