versus STATE ..... Respondent Through Mr.Sanjay Lau, Addl.

Standing Counsel on behalf of Ms.Nandita Roa, Addl.Standing Counsel along with SI Ranjeet Singh.

CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE ASHUTOSH KUMAR

O R D E R

% 20.10.2015 The petitioner has questioned the order dated 19.8.2014 passed by the Competent Court whereby his prayer for being released on parole on the ground of searching suitable alliance for his daughter; for partitioning of his share in the ancestral property and also for reconnecting the social ties, has been rejected. The aforesaid rejection is primarily on the strength of the gravity of the crime alleged against the petitioner and the petitioner not being eligible for parole as he is being prosecuted for crime against the State.

With reference to the status report, Mr.Sanjay Lao, Addl.

Standing Counsel has submitted that there is another reason for the petitioner not being eligible for grant of parole by this Court. The SLP of the petitioner is pending before the Supreme Court of India. In view of the aforesaid, the prayer for parole of the petitioner cannot be acceded to.

Petition is dismissed.
