% 20.03.2017 Present writ petition has been filed seeking release of old registration number being DL 6CC 0016 of the vehicle and permission to use the same for the new vehicle to be purchased by the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the respondents states that during the pendency of the present proceedings, a new policy/circular dated 15th February, 2017 has been issued.

Since the aforesaid circular is a beneficial one, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to apply for retention of the previous registration number in accordance with the circular dated 15th February, 2017.

In the event, the petitioner applies for retention of the previous registration number in accordance with the circular dated 15th

February, 2017 within a period of one week, the same shall be disposed of by the respondents, in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks thereafter.

With the aforesaid directions, present writ petition stands disposed of.
