The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that direction be issued to the respondents to revise / modify the list of candidates for selection as a Notary in the State of Delhi. 4.

The petitioner claims that he had applied for being appointed as a Notary Public and his application was recommended by the District Judge, Tis Hazari, Delhi. The petitioner states that a list of candidates to be called for interview was published on the website of respondent no.1. However, it

did not include the name of the petitioner.

It is in this context that the petitioner has filed the present petition, essentially, seeking that his name be also included in the said list.

Mr. Jasmeet Singh, learned counsel appearing for the respondents, who appears on advance notice, has handed over a copy of the letter dated 09.01.2014 sent to the petitioner, which indicates that the application forwarded by the petitioner had certain deficiencies. The said deficiencies were not cured and for this reason, the petitioner's application was not included in the list of candidates who were called for interview. 5.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that the petitioner did not receive any such letter pointing out any deficiency in the petitioner's application.

He further states that he had sent a letter dated 12.10.2018 to the respondents, inter alia, pointing out that he had not received a call for interview.

It is seen that the names of 430 candidates were listed for being interviewed and interviews were held from 09.10.2018 to 13.10.2018. Thus, the interviews are already over, and therefore, it is not possible for this Court to accede to the petitioner's prayer for being included as a candidate in the said list. Further, it also appears that the petitioner's application had certain deficiencies which were required to be cured. 7.

In view of the above, this Court considers it apposite to permit the petitioner to cure the defects / deficiencies pointed out in the letter dated 09.01.2014 and resubmit the same directly to respondent no.1. Subject to the same being done, the petitioner's name be included in the list for selection of candidates to be called for interview in the next round of selection as and when the same is held.

The petition is disposed of with the aforesaid directions. Pending application also stands disposed of.
