This petition under Article 227 of the Constitution of India seeks expeditious disposal of the petition being HMA No.1075/2014 of the Court of Principal Judge (North) Family Court, Rohini Courts, Delhi filed by the petitioner in December, 2014 for dissolution of his marriage with the respondent.

What has led to the filing of this petition is the factum of the Judge, Family Court being on leave for the previous three consecutive dates of hearing.

However, the counsel for the petitioner agrees that all the cases listed before the Family Court on the said dates were so adjourned. CM(M) 943/2017

Merely because one of the persons whose litigation is pending in a Court approaches this Court in its supervisory jurisdiction cannot entitle that person to a preferential treatment over other litigants whose matters also are pending before the said Court. Otherwise, it is not the case that the proceedings in the petition filed by the petitioner have been unduly delayed or that any discriminatory treatment is being shown to the petition filed by the petitioner.
